Eating Disorders

Eating Disorders are becoming more and more prevalent in teens and young adults at this time. They are, essentially, a harmful way of coping with overwhelming feelings. I work with a team of professionals while treating a client with an eating disorder. I work in conjunction with dietitians (I can refer you to one in your area) and physicians and psychiatrists when applicable. I believe in the importance of staying connected as a team to best treat my client.

Signs of an ED:

Negative Body Image

Perfectionism

Noticeable weight loss

Excessive exercise

Obsession with food and/or calories

Excuses for not eating meals

Binging on large amounts of food

Using restroom immediately after eating

Hiding food or eating secretively

** It is important to remember that eating disorders are NOT only about food or body image, but about feelings. I can help you explore, verbalize, and manage the feelings you are experiencing.
